IN AN EFFORT TO KEEP NORFOLK BEAUTIFUL, THE CITY HAS KICKED OFF THE 2009 GREEN GOVERNMENT CHALLENGE.
THE GOAL IS TO INCREASE ENERGY EFFICIENCY ACROSS THE BOARD INCLUDING, RECYCLING, WASTE MANAGEMENT, LAND USE, MUNICIPAL TRANSPORTATION AND BUILDINGS.
CITY LEADERS HOPE THE FRIENDLY COMPETITION AMONG VIRGINIA LOCAL GOVERNMENTS CREATES ENVIRONMENTAL POLICIES AND PRACTICAL ACTIONS THAT SAVE MONEY AND CUT CARBON EMISSIONS.

Introduction to the Course; and Introduction to Electricity

An introduction to the course, including the history of energy, the relationship between energy and development, environmental and environmental justice impacts of energy generation, and an introduction to current energy issues.
