I was told by a driver that the clean-up guys probably wouldn’t be out because that Monday was a public holiday. However, after sighting the paper truck again, I noticed this truck driving towards me. The guys were cool with the filming, so I followed them around for a while until they stopped beside two decent piles I’d seen earlier. I also recognised this truck after hearing it rev and see its body size, so I went to the front of the truck and saw #328; one of the old Warringah Greens trucks. I shot this little series up during a Christmas collection in my area on New Years Eve. As I followed the truck around with my camera, it was hard to mistake the excess garbage in the overfilled bins, the lucky magpies digging through the celebration leftovers and all the crap scattered everywhere by the strong wind. I felt sorry for the driver, getting out of the truck so many times to pick up all the stuff that fell out of the truck, or that had been blown out of the bins.
I would’ve hated to have been a driver of one of these split trucks during that week, especially being paper week when the upper hopper gets clogged just enough on a typical day… you’ll see this extra garbage didn’t help much.

This was filmed on a dull, cloudy Monday morning, during this truck’s 3rd load during a Summer holiday. I’m very pleased with how the video turned out (particularly the entrance and exit shots) – I’m sure you guys’ll enjoy, please rate and comment.

This was from one of my holidays at Nelson Bay, taken from the place I was staying at for the weekend. All I can say is that I had a of a good view from the balcony of the room I was in! We see a Veolia FL dumping 3 x 1.5m, 1 x 4.5m and 2 x 3m, which are used by the hotel I was at and the bowling club on the same premises. There would’ve been another 4 bins in this video, but it wasn’t the holiday season so not as busy. Please enjoy, please rate and please comment.

This is one of the former Warringah trucks I had been trying to get on film for a of a long time, until I finally snapped up some footage of two of these old pieces of machinery during early 2009 when the clean-up was on in my area.
There were a few of these trucks that were used for all the green-waste and clean-up collections during the earlier years of Veolia’s contracting in my council. Since then a lot of you will have seen videos of the newer Veolia trucks that were brought in during 2004. I’m not totally sure how old these trucks were at the time, but I can guarantee it would’ve been way over 10 years old.
I got this video of truck 037 at the end of a cul-de-sac where a couple of houses dumped all their crap in one pile, spread along for about 50 metres. There’s some nice wooden furniture that was put out and plenty of other crunchy material that got chewed up… the summer clean-up always seems to have the most stuff out!
I hope you enjoy this big video of bulk waste getting totally screwed up in the jaws of this old rig, crunching the materials up into nothing.
