Has anyone been 27 years old and started their life over in a completely new career path?

March 10, 2010 - 9:45 pm 2 Comments

I completed college with a four year degree in environmental studies. The jobs search is a bit rough and I am not even sure I really want to commit to the environmental services industry as a career for the rest of my life. I am considering just starting over and seeking out something I would be passionate about pursuing the rest of my life…….pretty cheesy, I know……..Just looking for some honest and varied advice. Any and all is appreciated.

I am kind of in your shoes….I went to school (4 long years) to do Property Management. Once I got in the field, I found out you don’t make anything unless you OWN the property…managers are like slaves. I am now applying in retail, and got called for my first interview today. It is scary, but we are young- keep looking and trying new things…I believe when the right thing comes around you will know…life is too short to not be happy at work! That’s for sure! Good luck to you!

Will environmental health service people come to my sheesha lounge after 7pm?

March 8, 2010 - 6:20 pm 4 Comments

I have a sheesha bar and i open at 7pm every day. I was meant to get a visit from the environmental health service but i do not know if they will come out after 7pm. Is it possible they would pay a visit to my sheesh lounge after 7pm?

Sadly I cannot offer a definitive yes or no to your question. Maybe you’ll get one, but how would you know it was true? Better ring them up, pretend to be somebody else and attempt to glean the info from the source.

With a little luck, they’ll leave you alone. Health regulations today are so excessive, it’s not funny anymore. People know well enough that the system is stupid. They avoid the bad places all by themselves. After all, there would be no penalty if I got a sandwich which tasted of bleach, because that’s supposed to be a good thing, but if your bare hand touches it, I can sue you. Where’s the logic? In India you can get beautiful snacks cooked for you at the side of the road in filthy little stalls, but it makes no difference to the food quality, which is generally tremendously good.

Meanwhile, we have all these allergies because we live in pristine environments with no germs at all, so the slightest thing messes our immune system right up. Go figure.

what would be an example of a positive feedback loop showing the amount of impact i would have on the environm?

through the use of environmental services?

the melting of ice…which decreases the albedo of the earth that means more heat absorbed…that means more melting of ice..its a loop…and positive feedback…

I have no intentions of soliciting, but i really need some help now. Could u suggest some sites which could help in creating awareness through articles?

Why is the religious Right pay lip service to environmental issues ? Should they not protect this gift of God?

is it my fault i have cockroaches?

February 26, 2010 - 7:05 pm 13 Comments

noticed them in my kitchen couple of weeks ago now finding them all over am waiting for environmental services and am so embarrased, my house is clean!!
meant to say i live in a block of maisonettes, in town

do you live in an apartment? I used to have to get pest control service EVERY month because of the slobs that lived around me. they come in through the cracks under the walls and light switches and fixtures. Otherwise, it could be the area you’re in, or YES, you may be a slob yourself. just kidding. if you workout at a gym, for instance, you take a gym bag to change clothes with. you leave the bag in a locker for an hour or so, come back clean up, etc. take the bag back home with an new friend inside. This could be one way, and it could be a pregnant female. otherwise, refer to the other options. good luck.
